Wendy Hambleton
Partner and Director, National SEC Department
BDO USA LLP

Wendy Hambleton is the Director of BDO USA’s National SEC Practice and heads the firm’s IFRS Task Force. Previously she was a partner in the SEC practice and was the Regional Technical Director for the Midwest region.

Ms. Hambleton works extensively with the Firm’s clients and engagement teams to prepare SEC filings, communicate with the SEC staff and resolve related accounting and reporting issues. Additionally, she co-authors a number of internal and external publications, including the AICPA’s Guide to SEC Reporting.

As the head of the Firm’s IFRS Task Force she coordinates with IFRS experts in other Member Firms on international training and technical application of IFRS. Prior to joining the SEC Department, Ms. Hambleton worked in the Washington, DC office where she specialized in working with both public and private manufacturing and multi-national corporations.

Mark Fitzpatrick
Partner
Moss Adams LLP

Mark Fitzpatrick, an assurance partner with the Seattle office of Moss Adams LLP, works primarily with privately held middle-market manufacturing and distribution companies. A member of the firm’s International Services Group, he leads the Moss Adams IFRS Technical Resource Group, working with others to help the firm continue its IFRS-readiness initiatives.

Mark has worked with a variety of clients and client service teams to prepare full-disclosure stand-alone IFRS financial statements, and he has experience offering guidance regarding IFRS accounting and reporting matters. An instructor for many IFRS accounting and reporting courses for Moss Adams and IASeminars, he has also spoken on IFRS to outside organizations. Mark also coauthored an article on IFRS for Small and Medium-Sized Entities for the Journal of Accountancy.

Mark has been in public accounting for over 16 years and has been at Moss Adams since 2005, after 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He earned his BS in accounting and finance from Oregon State University.

Paul Munter
Partner, Department of Professional Practice
KPMG LLP

Paul Munter is a Partner in the Department of Professional Practice—Audit with KPMG. He serves as the lead technical partner for the US firm’s international accounting and IFRS activities and also serves on KPMG’s Global IFRS Panel which is responsible for establishing KPMG positions on the application of IFRS.

He also is involved in the development of firm positions in response to proposals from the IASB, IFRIC, FASB, SEC and other standard setters as well as the development of the firm’s guidance and publications including Comparison of IFRS to US GAAP and First Impressions: Business Combinations (joint IASB/FASB project).

He served as the Academic Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission where he worked on many of the Commission’s Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives and rule-making activities. Previously, he served as KPMG Professor and Chairman of the Department of Accounting at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He earned his PhD in accounting at the University of Colorado. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Fresno State University. He is a CPA in New York, Florida, and Colorado.

Mr. Munter was honored by the Texas Society of CPAs as its first “Outstanding Discussion Leader.” He has also been honored by the Florida Institute of CPAs as its Outstanding Educator and he was honored by Beta Alpha Psi as the National Business Information Professional of the Year.
